Hi, I’m CJ

Hello Folks! 

So as you may have already figured it out, my name is Joseph Chander (some call me JC, some call me CJ, some Joe, some JoeJoe, you can come up with your own version! lol) I was born in Chennai, India and moved to Toronto, Canada in 2000. Photography has been a part of my life since college (1993) where I specialized in Photo journalism and Television production and later worked as a producer. My education of Photography started with 35mm film cameras and I learned everything from scratch i.e. developing the negatives and printing my own pictures, all of which were some really exciting stuff!     

Since being trained on film, I use the same principals on Digital – Shoot the picture to capture the moment the way it is – with minimal post digital alterations, Hence the title “In the Moment Pix”. I know many photographers who spend less time concentrating on being “In the Moment” but instead they spend more time altering their pictures digitally, not saying that is wrong, but it’s not my style. I believe I am a Photographer first!

Preferences & Interests 

I prefer shooting pictures in natural settings, at the subject’s natural domain where they’re most comfortable at, using natural light. This could be your back yard, your house, a park, your school, the neighborhood café where you get your morning brew or your most favorite spot in the city! Obviously, this is not applicable for events and weddings, where additional lights might be required.
